Pete & Kelly Santar, Owners

Pete officially began working for Mar-Con Products, Inc. in 1992, after graduating from San Marcos High School. However, he spent many summers and after school hours, working around the business when he was still in middle and high school. Pete attended Palomar College at night, while working as a manhole builder and assisting with precast manufacturing during the day. In 2006, Pete assumed officer responsibilities from his Dad, Mark. Pete has continued his Dad’s business community support and involvement with the San Marcos Boys & Girls Club, local sports team sponsorships and various other charity events. In recent years, he has also been an active supporter of military charity events and YMCA fundraisers. Pete joined Vistage in 2015.

Kelly graduated from California State University, San Marcos in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies. She originally planned to be a teacher. Pete & Kelly were married in 1998. Kelly began working for Mar-Con Products, Inc. in 2007 as a substitute Accounts Receivable manager. She held this position throughout the next several years, filling in when necessary, while being a stay at home mom to their two children. Kelly assumed responsibilities from Pete’s Mom, Nancy, in 2012 upon her retirement. Kelly has been involved in breast cancer awareness events since 2006, and became a committee member for a charity for esophageal and stomach cancer awareness in 2011.

Pete and Kelly have a son and a daughter who keep them busy with school and sports. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, relaxing at the river, and playing in the desert!

Rick Lotze

Rick Lotze is a proud military brat of a 20 year Air Force veteran. His early years allowed him opportunities to live in several countries, states and cities around the world. Rick’s family settled in San Diego upon his father’s retirement in 1977 and attended local middle and high schools. Shortly after graduation, Rick entered the construction industry working in a lumber yard building roof trusses and learning many other skills. After five years in the lumber yard, Rick got a job as a manhole builder, which led to a position as dispatcher, estimator and project manager with Mar-Con and R&C Structures. Rick has been managing the day to day operation of all precast and manhole installation and sales for over 20 years. During this time, Rick went to school at nights in order to earn his Masters Degree in Business management from University of Phoenix and obtained a Certification in Project Management. Rick is happily married for over 25 years with two wonderful children. Rick’s current hobbies include golfing, shooting, family trips, and time with friends and family.

Donnie Martinez

Donnie Martinez has been with Mar-Con Products since 1988. Donnie has held several positions over the years. He started as a manhole builder, where he was responsible for casting in place concrete bases, stacking manholes, confirming elevations, and developing lasting business relations with numerous customers. Donnie was able to build lasting business relationships that continue to benefit Mar-Con Products. Donnie to this day still helps when called upon for manhole duties. Following his time as a manhole builder, Donnie became a useful member of the concrete and pre-cast divisions. Donnie served numerous duties such as managing expenses, managing employees, customer service, collections, mechanical assistant, and purchasing. During this time Donnie has gained the respect and confidence of all those who works with him.

Additional experience (prior to Mar-Con):

Donnie spent 7-8 years in the concrete industry pouring and setting forms for many phases of concrete construction. This experience came to benefit Donnie in many of his duties at Mar-Con.
